Not just for people camping or staying here, the park is home to loads of open space and creeks as well as the treetop challenge, putt putt, a cafe (great coffee, thanks Paige!), and gemstone challenge. "What an amazing place! Came here by chance after seeing a brochure and will definitely be back. "Truely Amazing! Something for everyone, sites are clean with great facilities and the surroundings are stunning. Staff were very professional & help you through it." After finishing 2 stages I feel better & will be going back to do it again, will try the 4 stages next time. "This place was awesome fun, I have a huge fear of height & did the challenges. Worth a check if you are visiting and are a thrill seeker. If you aren't at least a little bit athletic, you would not enjoy this as much as I did. More like the kind you get from when you make love. We haven't wanted to disturb this guest so we don't know if the platypus is male or female but we strongly suspect the adult platypus wants a break from the younger members of the family, just like some of our other regular guests. These efforts have been rewarded by an increase in native flora and fauna.Īs well as beautiful birds, butterflies and wallabies, a duck-billed platypus is a regular guest at Cedar Creek. Environmental awareness includes careful handling of waste, water management, recycling, replanting native species and revegetating the bushland. Various elements have been implemented to give nature a helping hand. Thunderbird Park operates a strict sustainable management program. These colourful birds fly down from the trees to feed two or three times a day. Regular visitors include the rare Albert's Lyrebird, bowerbirds, butcher birds and wedge tailed eagles.īeautiful Rainbow Lorikeets are a favourite. Wander along the maintained bush walking tracks at Thunderbird Park and meet native animals and birds in their natural habitat.
